Why do I care so much about the existence of Tuvalu? Being a Nauruan born, New Zealand raised Tuvaluan has had it’s fair share of challenges.

Growing up as a Kiwi, in a small town with majority of the population being Caucasian, I struggled with my own identity and felt like I didn’t belong. Once the Tuvaluan community began to expand in my home town and I started to become accustomed to my own culture, the love and pride for my own culture grew too! To question whether or not my home land would be there once I get the opportunity to go breaks my heart.

Summary:

With ‘Fight for Tuvalu’ I am hoping to turn ripples into waves across the globe so people can feel my fear for my ‘Atu Fenua Pele (beloved homeland). This is for my generation, my children’s and my grandchildren’s. Take the pledge and get involved!
